A landlord from Blackburn has been prosecuted for failing to ensure that gas safety checks were carried out on the property he rented out.

The landlord, Mr Hussain, was prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive for repeatedly ignoring requests to arrange an annual visit by a registered gas engineer at the property. 

Mr Hussain was fined £10,000 and ordered to pay £8,000 in costs.
