Meet the Team

Nicholas is the Head of the family department, and has been a Partner since 1986.  He became Senior Partner in May 2011.  Throughout his career Nicholas has exclusively practised all aspects of family law. Nicholas’s specialist areas are divorce including financial cases involving high net worth clients and matters relating to children. Nicholas is a member of Resolution – First for Family Law.

Andrew joined Hart Reade in June 1990 and became a Partner in May 1992. Head of the Property Department, Andrew specialises in all aspects of residential and commercial property including leasehold advice and property development.  Andrew is a past President of the Eastbourne Law Society and currently Captain of the Sussex Law Society Golf Society.

John joined Hart Reade in 1992, was admitted as a Solicitor in 1994 and became a Partner in May 1996. Head of the Probate and Trusts Department, John is located in the Eastbourne office and specialises in the administration of estates (probate), wills, trusts and allied matters. John is also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and the Probate Section of the Law Society

Alexandra is a Solicitor and a Partner in the firm and specialises exclusively in all areas of matrimonial and family law. This includes divorce, financial and property issues on divorce, children (contact, residence, parental responsibility, finances, removal from the jurisdiction and parents wishing to emigrate), property disputes between unmarried couples and pre-nuptial/separation agreements. Alexandra was admitted as a Solicitor in October 1999, having practised as a Legal Executive since 1990.  She joined Hart Reade in October 2001 and became a Partner in May 2003. Alexandra is located in the Eastbourne office and is a member of the specialist Law Society Family Law Panel and of Resolution – first for family law.

Jacqueline joined Hart Reade in June 1992, qualified as a Solicitor in December 2000 and was appointed Partner in May 2004. She is located in the Eastbourne office and undertakes contentious work in a number of different areas.

Heather joined Hart Reade in 1988, was admitted as a Solicitor in 1990 and became a Partner in May 1998. She is located in the Eastbourne office and specialises in the administration of estates (probate), wills and allied matters.

Helen was admitted as a Solicitor in August 2002. She joined Hart Reade's Probate and Trusts Department in September 2004 and was appointed Partner in May 2008. Helen works in the Hailsham office and specialises in the administration of estates (probate), wills, trusts and allied matters.

Andrew was admitted as a Solicitor and joined Hart Reade's Property Department in September 2004. He was appointed Partner in May 2008. Operating from both our Eastbourne and Hailsham offices, Andrew handles all aspects of commercial property, business advice and transfers and landlord & tenant work.

Guy is a Solicitor exclusively practising Family Law and was appointed a Partner in 2011. Having joined Hart Reade’s family department in 1999, Guy qualified as a solicitor in 2008 (previously qualifying as a Legal Executive in 2005) and achieved a Distinction at the College of Law's Legal Practice Course.  Guy’s specialist areas are – Divorce and Finances, Children, Property Disputes between unmarried couples and pre-nuptial/separation agreements.  Guy also regularly represents clients in Court. 

Roger joined Hart Reade in 1978 and was appointed a Partner in 1980.  He took over as Senior Partner in 2005 and in May 2011 became a Consultant and Compliance Officer, working in the Civil Litigation Department.  Located in the Eastbourne office, Roger specialises in employment, general and commercial litigation and accident claims.

Angela Hobden was admitted as a Solicitor in September 2001 and joined Hart Reade in September 2004.  She was appointed an Associate of the firm in September 2007. Angela is located in the Polegate office and specialises in the administration of estates (probate), wills and allied matters and is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Carolyn qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1992 and was admitted as a Solicitor in 2005. Carolyn joined Hart Reade in June 2007 and is located in the Hailsham office. Carolyn was appointed an Associate of the firm in June 2010 and specialises in all aspects of matrimonial and family law. Carolyn is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel.

Mary qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and joined Hart Reade’s Private Client department in March 2012.   Mary is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.  Based in the Eastbourne office Mary specialises in the preparation of Wills, administration of estates (probate), Lasting Powers of Attorney and Trusts and Tax.

Tina joined Hart Reade in 1998 and was admitted as a solicitor in January 2009. Tina works in the Civil Litigation Department in the Eastbourne office undertaking general civil litigation work.

Neisha joined Hart Reade in October 2007 and qualified as a Solicitor in October 2009.  Based in the Eastbourne office, Neisha specialises in all aspects of property, landlord and tenant and property development.

Deanne is a Chartered Legal Executive and joined Hart Reade's Private Client department in October 2011.  Deanne is based in the Polegate office and specialises in the preparation of Wills, administration of estates (probate) and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Vanessa is a qualified Licensed Conveyancer and joined Hart Reade in 2009.  Vanessa specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing and is head of our property team at the Hailsham office.

Rachel joined Hart Reade in February 2004 as a trainee Legal Executive and qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute in October 2007. Rachel works in the Family & Matrimonial Department as assistant to Alexandra Funnell in the Eastbourne office.

Greg joined Hart Reade in September 2004 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in March 2012.  Greg works in the Family and Matrimonial Department in the Eastbourne office as Assistant to Nicholas Dennis.

Katie Holman joined Hart Reade's Property Department in November 2010 after several years working in another local practice.  Katie works as a Conveyancing Executive and is situated in the Polegate office.

Karen Hooker joined Hart Reade in October 2006 and works as Assistant to John Benson in the Private Client department in the Eastbourne office.  Karen is studying for the Chartered Institute of Legal Executive examinations and has achieved Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and became an Associate member of ILEX in September 2009. 

Anna Clarke joined Hart Reade in September 2007 and works as Assistant to Andrew Pluck in the Property Department at Eastbourne.  Anna is studying for the Chartered Institute of Legal Executive examinations and has achieved Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and became an Associate member of ILEX in September 2009. 

Sue Chambers joined Hart Reade in October 2003 and works as Assistant to Carolyn Richards in the Matrimonial and Family Department in Hailsham.  Sue is an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Alison Dole joined Hart Reade in September 1990 and works as an Assistant to Andrew Pluck in the Property Department in Eastbourne.

Helen Hatcher joined Hart Reade in  March 1998 and works as Assistant to Andrew Pluck in the Property Department in Eastbourne.

Janet Message joined Hart Reade in July 1991 and works as Assistant to Angela Hobden in the Private Client department at the Polegate office.

Lauren Tutt joined Hart Reade in August 1987 and works as Assistant to Andrew Pluck and Neisha Taylor in the Property Department in Eastbourne.
