Hart Reade Raises over £1,500 for Local Charities

Hart Reade raised a total of £1,702.69 for two local charities in 2018, including £1,052.69 for their staff charity Families for Autism, and £650 for their partner charity You Raise Me Up.

Having supported local charities for many years as part of their CSR strategy, Hart Reade made the decision to split their giving last year and up the ante by setting themselves fundraising targets.

A wide variety of staff fundraising events were held throughout the year at their offices in Eastbourne, Meads, Hailsham and Polegate to raise money for Families for Autism, including Name the Easter Bunny, a Coffee Morning hosted by staff member Sue Chant, a Cake Sale, a World Cup Sweepstake, Summer Raffle, Halloween, and Christmas events.

Families for Autism provide support, encouragement and understanding to children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum and their families within the Eastbourne and East Sussex area.

In addition, a number of fundraising events were held in aid of You Raise Me Up, including two coffee mornings at their Polegate office, a coffee morning at their Hailsham office, and the Meads Magic Christmas event in Meads.

You Raise Me Up are a Polegate-based charity who support families who have suffered the loss of a young adult between the ages of 16 and 25.

Every year, the staff at Hart Reade choose a new charity to support and ‘Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance (WRAS)’ was announced as the staff charity for 2019 a few weeks ago.

The charity is a front line rescue service to help people who find sick, injured and orphaned wildlife across East Sussex, receiving between 2,000 and 3,000 calls for help annually.

Partner and family solicitor Alexandra Funnell commented ‘we are really proud of our team for their fundraising efforts in 2018. We are currently developing our plans for 2019 and the two charities that we intend to support for the coming year…watch this space’
