Divorce and Finances
In the case of K v L a divorced couple won the right to remain anonymous during ancillary relief and Court of Appeal hearings. Unknown to their friends and those around them, the wife owns shares worth £57m. Despite this they chose to live a modest lifestyle and sent their three children to state school. Their aim was for them to live a normal life and to protect them from a potentially damaging lifestyle. The Court of Appeal therefore banned identification of the couple to protect the identities of the children.
