Employment Tribunal & Discrimination Law

In the case of Farrell v South Yorkshire Police Authority an employment tribunal held that an employee’s beliefs over the 9/11 and 7/7 terrorist attacks were not protected under the Religion or Belief Regulations 2003.

The employee believed that the 9/11 and 7/7 attacks were authorised by the US and UK government and that the media is being controlled by a global elite trying to bring about a new world order.

Although the employee’s beliefs were honestly held they did not pass the test as set out in previous case law.  They were deemed to be incoherent and absurd when scrutinised objectively.
