Employment
Amendments to the Employment Rights Act 1996 came in to force on 6 April 2012.
Under the Unfair Dismissal and Statement of Reasons for Dismissal (Variation of Qualifying Period) Order 2012, employees will now have to be continually employed for two years before they are able to bring a claim for unfair dismissal or request an employer to provide a written explanation for dismissal. Prior to the 6 April the qualifying period was only one year.
