Proposals for Sharing Parental Leave

The Queen’s Speech set out Government proposals to give parents the right to share parental leave.
Under the plans parents will be able to access flexible parental leave. This will enable them to share the caring responsibilities and be more adaptive to their personal situation.
The law ensuring children maintain a relationship with both parents (if it is in their best interests) after divorce will also be strengthened.
The bill is expected to come in to force next year.
