Grandparents’ Right To Contact
Family Law
A new report has set out proposals to give grandparents legal rights to maintain contact with their grandchildren after a relationship breakdown or divorce.
The proposals seek to reflect the important role grandparents can play and the how they can be heavily relied upon by parents both in terms of childcare and financial help.
However it is expected that the courts will be able to continue to decide what is in the child’s best interest when deciding such matters.
