The Inheritance & Trustees’ Powers Act 2014 has received Royal Assent and comes into force on 1 October 2014. The Act makes important changes to established law.
The definition for people treated as children of the deceased where the deceased stood in the role as parent and treated that person as a child of the family has been extended and this will include the situation where there were no other family members, for example a single step father.
