New Rules For Bailiffs
The Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013 comes into force on 6 April 2014. The Act modernises the law on when a debtor’s premises can be entered, what goods can and cannot be taken etc. Changes include a debtor’s right to challenge the legality of the enforcement, prescribed fees, special provision for “vulnerable” debtors to give them more time to get help and provision to enable an enforcement agent to give notice by any means including email, text and fax.
