Marriage automatically revokes a Will unless the Will is made in contemplation of that marriage to that particular person. Entering into a Civil Partnership also automatically revokes a Will.
Since 10 December 2014, it has been possible to convert a Civil Partnership to a marriage. This does not have the effect of revoking a Will as the marriage is backdated to the date of the original Civil Partnership.
