The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 will come into force on 1 October 2011. After a qualifying period of 12 weeks, temporary agency workers will have the right to equal treatment as regards basic working conditions (e.g. annual leave, overtime, rest breaks etc) in comparison with permanent workers who have been directly recruited. The right is not retrospective.
