Child Support / Maintenance and the CSA
Family Law
The Government has set out plans for the biggest overhaul of the child maintenance system since its inception.
The Child Support Agency (CSA) scheme will close to new applicants from next year and a new child maintenance service will be launched.
The new streamlined system aims to make separated parents take financial responsibility for their child’s upbringing. It will support parents to make their own family-based arrangements and offer initial advice through a ‘gateway service’. Those parents that do not pay will be pursued and face extra penalties to recoup some of the costs paid by the taxpayer to fund the enforcement action against them.
If you would like advice regarding child maintenance issues please contact our Family Law Department on Eastbourne 01323 727321 or Hailsham 01323 841481 for a free initial appointment.
