Family and Children
The Department for Education has confirmed new government measures to speed up the adoption process.
These new measures include the following;
- Local authorities to have a legal duty to reduce adoption delays and reduce the emphasis on finding an ethnic match
- Allowing children to be fostered by their prospective adoptive parents
- Placing children on the National Adoption Register when they have had to wait more than three months locally.
