Family and Children
The Justice Secretary, Ken Clarke, has revealed the government’s response to the Family Justice Review.
The response reveals legislation and measures aimed at reducing acrimony in divorce cases. In an effort to reduce the number of cases reaching court couples would be required to attend mediation in the first instance.
Mr Clarke explained that plans to give children a meaningful relationship with both parents did not necessarily equate to an equal division of time – the defining focus would be the quality of parenting received by the child.
