Family and Divorce
A pensioner is attempting to overturn a decree absolute as he was not aware his wife had divorced him – despite the fact they still lived under the same roof.
Glenford Warner was aware his marriage was in difficulty but was not aware his wife had issued proceedings until he received a letter from a family court notifying him that the decree nisi had been granted in his absence.
Mr Warner has been warned he faces a formidable task to overturn the decision. Mrs Warner decided to end the marriage because of Mr Warner’s “controlling and chauvinistic” behaviour.
