The Family Justice Review Panel has released its final report into the family justice system. The panel’s report focuses on delays in the system and has announced recommendations to speed up processes and increase efficiency – leading to a better experience for children and families.
The report suggests a maximum six month time limit on dealing with child care cases (except in exceptional circumstances). It also proposes allowing parents to make their own arrangements for children and only using the courts when necessary. An overhaul of the system would also see professionals and agencies working more closely together to make the system more efficient.
