Divorce and Children
A High Court Judge has recently Ordered that two girls, aged 15 and 11, should have the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination against their wishes.
The girls’ parents were divorced. Their mother objected, partly due to the potential side effects, but their father wanted them to have the vaccination.
The Judge held that although some weight should be attached to the wishes of mature children, that it was in their best interests to have the vaccination.
