Property, Landlord and Tenant
On 28 January 2013 the government formerly launched The Green Deal. The Green Deal aims to make the UKs housing more energy efficient.
The National Landlords Association (NLA) has reminded all private residential landlords to familiarise themselves with the deal and to make energy efficiency improvements to all relevant properties.
After 2016 landlords will be unable to refuse a tenant’s reasonable request for green deal improvements. After 2018 landlords will be forbidden to let any properties found to have a poor Energy Performance Rating (F or G rated).
